Buddy's Learn to Play album is one of, if not "The best" instructional album "and" listening album ever made! Wanna hear "shuffles" 'til your ears bleed? This is the one! Want to learn how to play them? Want to have tab too? This was the one!!!!!
I think that it might have been passed up as a great "listening" album because of it being designed as an instructional album and package. But, on every cut Buddy stretches out, ad libs and all, just Buddy, no guitars,fiddles or anything else to get in the way of listening to "steel guitar". Then, you can refer to the tab and see exactly what and how he did it, note by note and finger by finger.
If you didn't get this one when it was available you missed a great "listening" and "learning" experience.
I know of no other means available to learn this great selection of Country shuffles the right way than from the man himself! The only thing better than this instructioanl package would have been to learn "face to face" from the Master directly.
