Knee Pain
I'm back in the saddle practicing up a storm, but I've noticed more and more pain in my left knee. Anyone have any suggestions for a brace or something to help with knee pain on your pedal leg?

Re: Knee Pain
1. Go see a Physical Therapist & get exercises to do.
2. Ibuprofen.
#1 above is the best choice. PT's are amazing.
Hope you get better soon.

I've been wearing a brace today and it seems to be helping a lot

Re: Knee Pain
Maybe consider taking a hard look at how you’re seated in relation to your left foot/knee and what you’re asking them both to do. Heck, for that matter maybe ALL of your body parts could use some introspection … something I’ve (sadly) been doing a lot of recently.
You might be able to find a seating alignment that works better for where your body parts are “now” rather than “before”.

Re: Knee Pain
Bill; somehow you are creating some Tension in your left leg position and the knee it getting the hit. The pain you feel is from inflammation due to that tension and inflammation will cause nerves to ignite and ligaments to suffer somewhat. I would need to see your playing position to help with that. But Ice pack on the painful part of the knee is important to reduce inflammation; also a natural anti-inflammatory is 1000mg of Turmeric a day; I also use kinetic Tape for any area that hurts; as that tape helps tremendously with Circulation and Circulation is the healer. Yes that tape is what you see all over those Football players; it is wonderful; I use it on my Wrist as I have bone on bone there and I can play all night without stopping. You can get the tape in bandage section of pharmacies; or right here>
Ricky
Make sure you are sitting with belly centered between 12th fret and 24th fret; so you left leg is angling back toward the first 3 pedals and leg should not be 90%; they should be less than. Look at the pic below and the angle of legs and arms/wrists are correct for less tension; I just copied this pic as it shows good ergonomics and positions are very important with sitting and playing a long time. Good luck,
Ricky

Re: Knee Pain
That tape is similar to my knee brace. Since I started using it to play, my pain and swelling is much more manageable.
