Willbern M. Welten (Best known as "Spider Webb"), 74, of Sparta, IL passed from this world, Monday evening, February 6, 2012, with his family at his side at his residence. Webb owned and operated Welten's Music in Sparta, IL since 1968. He played any kind of string instrument. His main one was the steel guitar. He played professionally since a young child. He traveled with Gene Warren and the Glorylander's for twenty years. He backed up many Grand Ole Opry stars. He was a Veteran and served in the Navy for Ten Years. Webb was born at home in Steeleville, IL on September 20, 1937 to the parents of Willbern and Bernice Welten. Webb married Mary E. De Spain on April 25, 1957, in Steeleville, IL at the Peace Lutheran Church.
Webb is survived by his Wife: Mary; Son: Randall (Melinda) Welten of Coulterville, IL; Daughter: Tonya Welten of Baldwin, IL; Her friend Bobby Easton; Eight Grandchildren: Ernest (Stephenie) Lailer of Chester, IL, Amanda Welten of Chester, IL, Her friend Ryan House, Randall Jr., Dalton, Melina, Cheyenne Welten, Jon and Shawn Porter of Baldwin, IL; Six Great Grandchildren: Austin, Aaron, Kourtney Welten, Alexis House, Kathrene, Nickolas Lailer; One Brother: Gary (Jeanette) Welten of Steeleville, IL. Webb was preceded in death by his Parents, and One Daughter Kathleen Lailer.

The family request no flowers or plants. Memorials may be made to the Family to be donated to Missions and Organizations.
Service:
As his request, his body will be cremated. There will be no funeral service. The family will have a memorial celebration at a later date
