I have just finished listening to this CD all the way through, twice. This music may not be for everyone, but it sure does it for me. This album is courageous and inventive. First off- the musicianship is top notch. The melodies are elusive at first, but I think that much of the time this music may be more about texture and rhythm than melody. I am sure as I listen more, I will hear more. It is harmonically sophisticated as well. There is some very cool Ebow steel, slide acoustic, and some beautiful solo work by everyone. This CD is also full of wonderful marimba stuff! Do not expect a steel guitar CD, it is a modern music CD. I recommend that if you want to hear new and creative steel playing, that you get this album.
