Case for '39 Rick
Does anyone have a good solution for a hard case for a '39 B7 Rick. Anyone hear of a company who can make something in the style of the original cases?
Thanks,
Ian

Ian: this is a topic that's been covered here a number of times before, and you might want to search the archive for other suggestions. By far the best replacement case I've seen for a Rickenbacker lap steel was an SBK viola case which someone adapted for a post-war bakelite.
The overall dimensions were so perfect that the case might have been made especially for the instrument. All you'd need to do is strip the original lining, glue in styrofoam and rout it to shape and cover with velvet. Not a big job, and you won't find a better case.

Hi Ian,
I make custom hardshell cases for lap and pedal steels with a vintage flavor. Here are some pictures. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/dunamisdesigns316
Cost is $125 for a single neck instrument and $30 more for laquered tweed. E-mail or call and I'll tell you all about them.
