John,
Of the pics from the March 2003
Texas Steel Guitar Jambore, seems like you are playing a new laquer Zum with aluminium necks. Do you still have the wood neck Zum? Are you satisfied with Zum?

Regards,
Dag

Hi Dag,
Yes that was a wood body with aluminum necks and I still have the all wood Zum. I love both of the guitars. I just put Emmons single-coil pick-ups in both of them and I'll
never use another "humbucker" pick-up.
If it hums, the engineer can deal with it. Ha
I hope this doesn't sound like I'm being a smart a-- but there just isn't any other sound better than a single-coil pick-up, in "my" opinion.

That's Right! and is the reason I had Jerry Wallace of TrueTone pickups "rewind" my Sho~Bud single coils. They sound GREAT!

Thanks John for the answer.

I agree on the pickups. There just something missing in the humbucking pickups. I have played with both BL and GL`s pu`s tho` they sound great on some of the stuff I play.
Anyhow I`m going to put in a pair of single coils in my Zum to check out....again. Image

John, regarding both of your Zums - what`s the difference between wood and metal necks in your opinion?

Thanks,

The 705 is soon to come out of my Emmons push-pull once I get my rewound single-coil back! John always sounds great--humbuckers or not.
