Lloyd Green/Junior Brown

Post by Pete Finney »

I just got an advance copy of a new Waylon Jennings tribute; Lloyd Green is on a cut of "Nashville Rebel" with Jr Brown and not surprisingly it's really, really good... Lloyd is definitely back! Junior sounds fantastic too, singing Waylon really plays to his strengths in my opinion. Norah Jones also does a very nice version of "Wurlitzer Prize"; no steel but it's fine just as it is...

There are two forthcoming Waylon tributes, the one I'm referring to is on "Dualtone", the other on will be on RCA. The Dualtone one
also has Dave Alvin, Guy Clark, Radney Foster, Henry Rollins(!), Nancy Griffith and Allison Moorer (with yours truly on steel).
