Can you help?Mystery records.

Post by Egil Skjelnes »

Hello.
I hope that you can help me get in touch with these people if you know them.I do have records where I believe these people are involved, but need them to confirm info.
1.I have a record by a group called"The Sounds".Both tunes are written by J.Roby, can this be Jim Roby, and does someone have an adress to him?
2.Joe Cook-Forever/Marlen roll. Sounds like an promo record for Marlen guitars.Any info who this might be?
3.Does anyone of you know about a band called "The Horsefeathers Country Band",and the name of this steeler?
4.I have an LP by a band called "The Shoppe"
The names of the band members are listed, but not who`s playing what instrument!
Who is the steeler among these names?
Jack Wilcox,Clark Wilcox,Mike Caldwell,Roger Ferguson,Wayland Patton,Rick Sparks.
I hope you can help with any info,or contact adress.
Sincerely Egil.

Egil...Wayland Patton is a singer/songwriter in Nashville...other than that,I don't know any of those guys or groups...I do know a real good guitar player named Joe Cook who used to work with Terri Clark.I saw him on the Opry a couple of weeks ago,but I can't remember who he was playing with...sorry.

There was a band called Craig Wright and The Horsefeathers and they did have a man named Frank Sullivan on PSG, banjo and Lapsteel. I believe the band was later headed by a certain Arthur Dodge. If it's the same band you have on LP....

Roger Ferguson was a 1979 National Flatpicking Guitar Champion and took fourth place on mandolin at the Winfield,KS festival, you can probably count him out as a steel player. Don't know about the other names.
