Which Sonny?

Post by John Robel »

On one of my Red Steagall albums he says "now here's Sonny" for the break on Truck Drivin Man,he also says "oh Johnny" for the fiddle. I asume that is Gimble, but who is the Sonny? Thanks John

It most likely would be Sonny Garrish.
[This message was edited by Roger Shackelton on 03 February 2003 at 03:19 PM.]

If it's the "LoneStar Beer and Bob Wills Music" album, that is correct -- Johnny Gimble and Sonny Garrish

Another GREAT Red Steagal album that Sonny and Johnny are on is the "Texas Red" album which has the coolest version of "I Left My Heart In San Fransico" on it you've ever heard.

I had both those albums and had lent them to a student a while back. Well he skipped town with about a dozen of my un-replacable records, these being 2 of them. I've tried in vain for at least 15 years to find copies of these albums to replace mine.

If anyone knows where I can find them, please let me know.

Thanks
