Hey y'all,
Anyone know much about Rich Gilbert? I just got a live recording of Frank Black & The Catholics (Frank Black formerly of Pixies), and there is some nice pedal steel playing on a few tunes, esp. nice version of Arlo Guthrie's "Coming Into Los Angeles"...just curious. Thanks,
Carter

Hey Carter, yeah I know a bit about Rich.
He was a regular icon in the boston indie rock scene. He was a member of the 80's group The Human Sexual Response, then The Zulus and then later was in The Concussion Ensemble.
He's a MONSTER on the six string, but I didn't realize that he did much more than dabble on steel. He's on the first couple Uncle Tupelo records I think...that was a mighty long time ago, so he's had plenty of time to practice since then!
