Is the song "Honeysuckle Rose" an original by Herbie and Thumbs?
Thanks, Dennis

Hey Dennis,Honeysuckle Rose is a old big band jazz tune.If I was home I could look it up and tell you who wrote it but I'm in Arizona right now.I used to play Guitar in a jazz group and we played it all the time.Good tune but you need the right chords to do it right.I never tried it on Steel.
Herby and Thumbs did a great job with it.

I'm sure Herby wishes he'd written "Honeysuckle Rose", but alas, it was written by the great Fats Waller and Andy Razaf.

Thanks guys. I thought I've heard all the old big band tunes. Guess I missed one?

Many years ago I had an old acetate transcription with Joaquin playing a great instrumental of Honeysuckle Rose. I think it was with the "Planesmen" but I'm not sure.

Roy

Edit: Or is that Plainsmen?
