Probably Curley Chalker, he did a great version of it on "Big Hits" I think it was.

May have been Chalker, but it wasn't on Big Hits. Here is a list of what's on "Big Hits on Big Steel"
Side 1:
The Race is On
Welcome To My World
Wolverton Mountain
Make The World Go Away
Tippy Toeing
Crying Time

Side 2:
King Of The Road
A Thing Called Sadness
Together Again
A Mansion On The Hill
These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

Try his album "More Ways to Play". I'm pretty sure it's on there.

I don't believe it's on "More Ways to Play" either. If there is a recorded version around of Curly doing it I'd sure like to lay my hands on it....

thanks everyone.
Two more questions :
1) what's the best Curley Chalker CD to go for as a starter
2) where can I get it ? (already checked Scotty's & couldn't find anything by him)
Thanks

It's on Counterpoint. On Tom Bradshaw's reissue (which is what I have) it's the second song on side one.

Counterpoint is a wonderful album. One of the very best steel guitar records ever made. If you don't have it, you're missing something very special.
