Boogie Sherod
Does anyone know where Boogie is these days?
I saw him at a steel guitar back in Dallas some time back. He amazied me on how good he picked that steel with only a straight guitar pick. He played more with one pick than some can play with four.

Boogie Sherrard? He just played Aug 18 at our culb in Louisville, Ky. [He has just been elected President of the club too]. Tore it up too. I have sat and marveled at his playing using that straight pick. Yes, he does get some amazing grips using his fingers and that pick. One of the nicest people you'll ever meet too. He has helped me tremendously with my playing and is always willing to show me or anyone helpful tips. Plays a pretty mean guitar too! He's everybody's favorite person around here!

Jerry, what is the name of the club, and do you all use other bands at anytime. If so I'd like to bring the Farr_outs up there to play. If you don't mind email the name and phone number. Also if you can I would like to have Boogie's number. I think we're both from the same neck of the woods, Lousiana.

Could be we're talking bout 2 different people. I don't believe the Boogie I know is from La. He's a Ky. boy. He has played the Texas show and he does use a straight pick so maybe it's the same guy. He also plays 6 string at a lot of the steel shows around the country.
The club is the Louisville Metro Steel Guitar Club. No e-mail or formal address. I'll get back to you on the rest of your reply.

I agree with Tony! I saw him at a show in Lexington KY back in 1995 or 6?? He was in the staff back-up band....playing guitar as Tony described. I made the remark to my buddy
with me how great a picker I thought he was!
We were from NY state (& still are!) and one of the locals sitting next to us, said....
"You ain't seen nothin' yet wait til he plays steel!" I said, "the same way?" "Yep!"
He's amazing! & he amazed me, that was for sure! I have to stand by what Tony said!!

I talked with Boogie in St. Louis too. Did anyone mention that he'll be at the Lexington show this year -- 1st weekend in November (1st and 2nd) I believe.
