Billy West

Post by Gere Mullican »

Has anyone seen or heard from Billy West lately. We went to school together all the way from grade school thru high school. I know he did live here in Nashville but haven't been able to find out how to contact him. His was the first electric steel guitar I ever played. It wa a Vega and we were in about the 7th grade. Would appreciate any info and Billy if you read the forum you better contact me. Thanks

If no one know Billy (maybe you know him as Bill) he also use to have an electronics company called "QUEST". I would really like to talk to him. He had open heart surgery several years. Thanks.

Are you talkin' about Dottie West's husband? I worked some shows with him a long time ago, but have no idea of his whereabouts now. Doyle

Doyle, that is the correct Billy West. We grew up together and attended school together. After his and Dottie's divorce if he mentioned her he would call her "what's her name". He is one class guy and I would really love to get in touch with him. I appreciate your response.

Gere, I think the last time I saw him was on one of Tennessee Jim's Shows. Henry Ade was playin' steel at the time. I don't know if he rings a bell with you,but he's doin' the same thing Tennessee Jim done back then, bookin' shows. If I can get ahold of him he might be able to help you out. I'll try to get you his e-mail address. He's located at Waterloo Ind. I'm talkin' the late 60's or early 70's tho, so so it's been awhile. Dottie was on the show, and Billy would play steel on her part. What I remember of him he was a super good picker and all round good guy Doyle

Gere, I just talked to Henry and he said the last time he saw Billy was at the Opry with Dottie so that was a whie back. He did have an idea that might work tho. Contact the musician's local union in Nashville, they might have something on him, hope it works Doyle

Doyle I thank you again for your help in locating Billy. I will contact the union and see if they have any info on him. In the meantime if anyone knows his whereabouts I would appreciate any information. His name is William Morris West and he has a son named Morris. Thanks.
