TRUE or FALSE!

Post by John Bechtel »

Bud Isaacs played Steel Guitar on Little Jimmy Dickens recordings of "Sleepin' At The Foot Of The Bed" and "Take An Old Cold 'Tater And Waite"? Please don't expect an answer from me! If I was sure, I wouldn't be asking! Thanks, "Big John" Bechtel P.S. My guess is YES! But, I remember being wrong one time before! I don't remember what it was, but; I remember being wrong!

Hello John;
I emailed Bud & Geri to ask them as i was curious also.Here is the answer from them:
"Hi Ron Thanks for letting us know. We are still recuperating from St. Louis. Bud said to that it wasn't him or Buddy Emmons That is was before their time He thinks that is was Bob Foster. or maybe Walter he is not sure. You can put it on the form if you like.. I am running so far behind I will never get to it. Let me know if you do. Geri"

I always thought it was Walter Haynes on that stuff. In fact I remember hearing an interesting story about Walter cuttin We Could and changing his tuning.

According to the session information on JD's Bear Family box set, it's Pete "Bashful Brother Oswald" Kirby on "Take A Tater" and Coy Crank on "Sleepin' At The Foot...", both recorded in -49.
