Paul Franklin's solo work

Post by Gary Walker »

Just got my copy of Doyle Dykes' CD "Country Fried Pickin" and Paul did some fine playing as only he can. In this day and age it seems that we are not getting to hear the fire that Paul,Tommy and others can deliver. Doyle had the desire to let Paul do his thing and Paul had some nice cuts on the album. He lent a great help to an already fantastic project as Doyle is gaining recognition as a world-class finger-picker as we witnessed on the Opry a few weeks ago especially the Chet medley he did like nobody's business. I highly recommend the CD to all pickers. You can go to DoyleDykes.com and get that and others but this is truly a masterpiece by a master player. Forgot to mention Doyle also had Duane Eddy on some of the cuts and that was a real blast from the past.
[This message was edited by Gary Walker on 29 July 2002 at 10:18 PM.]

Doyle did a Mini concert at my store the 13th
of July and what an amazing player and person
he is.Looking forward to having him back.I also chatted with Doyle about Paul Franklin's
playing and Paul as a person. Doyle is a big
fan of his also.

Doyle did a project back in the 80s with some of Steve Wariner's band and PF did some steel work and it was a barn burner then.

Can anyone direct me to a source for some of Paul's work on CD? Any would be good, but would prefer solo recordings. Help is appreciated.

Paul does some great picking on the C6 on two tunes and E9 on two others and really flies on one that Doyle picks fast, sings fast and Paul sizzles.
