Who's the steel player on?

Post by Henry Matthews »

I downloaded, I NEVER GO AROUND MIRRORS, off of winmx sung by Daryle Singletary and it has one of the most beautiful steel rides I ever heard. Does anyone know who played on that album or song.
Thanks

When I first met Mike, back in the '70's,he was workin' w/ Mel Street,of "Borrowed Angel" fame. Next thing I know,he's the staff steeler on TNN's,"You Can Be A Star". Now,he's into the "session scene" pretty heavy. After that song, you can guess why!!

I was just blown away by the steel guitar work Mike Johnson did on this Album. I first heard it when friend called me and played the break on "I Never Go around Mirrors" over the phone. As soon as I hung up the phone, I went out and bought a copy of this great CD. Great work Mike & Daryl, lets hear more of that kind of music.

FYI Mike does the awsome steel on both of Brad Paisleys C.D.s and I believe prior to Donna Hammet, he was the steeler for whispering bill Anderson.

I made up several junction boxes for Mike Johnson's elaborate equipment that he uses in his studio sesson work, and it took him about three weeks, before he had enough time to come by and pick them up! He is really a busy, busy man, and doing a fantastic job in the studio! Fellow Steeler, "Big John"
