Great Music

Post by Chuck McGill »

I had to post my feelings about two CD's
I purchased when I joined the forum.Dan Tyack
and Dave Ristrim.Although I also appreciate traditional steel guitar these guys really give us a look at the diversity of the instrument.Wonderful arrangements with inovative solo work on all instruments. This
playing is a must hear for all who have listened to the likes of Little Feat and the
Dixie Dregs over the years.Congrats to the players and recording engineers who were involved in these great projects.

Thanks for the good words Chuck. I too love the traditional sounds of the steel guitar, but I love to push the envelope when I can. I am currently making a list of tunes for my next Cd. I seriously doubt if I'll do anything too trad like. I do have one song I'm working on with the working title of "Orange Folsom Breakdown". We'll just see where it goes.
Stay tuned,
Dave Ristrim

you are very right about those guys!
I had the pleasure to work with Dan Tyack, and every time I listen to his playing , I discover the songs with different intentions.
He is a 'rich'and blessed player! Can't be beat on his tone!
