Well I finally got registered. Been visiting for the past month. I wish this would have been around when I first started back in 1988. Thanks to Frank Estes who got me started on the right track, introduced me to Herby Wallace. Just wished both of them hadn't had to move, but I understand. Frank is right up there with the best in my opinion.

Welcome aboard, Tim! No way am I going to live up to that, but I guess I will spend the rest of my trying!

When I first met Tim, he was playing a Stratocaster with a local gospel group in the Dalton, GA area. Somehow he got the itch to play steel and came over to the house of few times when I lived in Dalton, GA. I recommended that he buy Scotty's "Anthology of the Pedal Steel" instruction book as a good starting point. He bought it through Herby and took it from there.

It is my understanding that Tim was the road steel player for the gospel group, the new Hinsons. The Hinsons have always been my favorite gospel group, with Sonny Garrish's incredible studio work on their recordings.

Tim is a nice young man with a great attitude.

So, we should all welcome him because we know how it seems that fewer young people are taking up steel guitar these days!

Hey Frank, good to hear from you. I did travel with new Hinsons playing steel and lead in 98. My wife and I had our first baby 12-97 so it was really rough on me financially,so I had to leave the road in aug 98. Wish I would have toughed it out a little longer. Filled in summer of 2000, but due to financial reasons on Bo's part he could not put me full time. They like many other gospel acts are tracks only now. that was the best job I ever had. Bo was a good friend and a great person to work for.

Welcome to the forum! Haven't seen you for a long time! You were with your family group, the Hastys, at the Country Village in Tickfaw, LA. Where is Stewart Stanley?
Again, welcome!

Thanks for the welcome. I play a '90 emmons lashley legrande, play through pro fex, blue tube II, Nashville 400. I play with a group of guys in Dalton, Ga. called Solid Ground. Some may remember our piano player, Trey Starnes from his years with the Trailblazers.
We only play on a part time basis. I also have a recording studio where I play on demos, projects. Currently working on a project for a family group The Durdens out of Sevierville, Tn. Played for my family group the Hasty's until they went with tracks. Still go with them when I am not playing.
Reggie, Good to hear from you. Last I heard
Stewart moved back to Valdosta, Ga. but that was back in 2000, I am not sure if he is still there or not.
