Happy Birthday Paul Franklin!!

Post by Johan Jansen »

Yes, I know I'm a few days to early, his b-day is friday 31st,but I don't want to let go the chance to congratulate him.
Why?
1. He is a real friend, without gimmicks.
2. He was, and is to me the trigger for getting into the pedal steel, and I think for a lot of people of my age!
I still remember an album of Paul, on the cover with a lot of Jackson- 5 hair Image, that blew my mind. I was about 20, and he a little older, and steelguitar was in my opinion that time an instrument for older people. He proved it was not! When I came struggling through my teenage guitarplaying-time with Dire Straits, and he joined them later, all pieces from my music-puzzle fit!

Paul, thanks for the music and all the joy it brought me!!
Life wouldn’t have taken the same turn without it!
