I'm in the process of putting photos I took in Portland on Sunday evening, May 12, 2002 of the Renegade Band which features steeler Doug Jones.
Here's a sample shot:
Doug is certainly a fine player who plays with such taste and fineness. I regret that I have to wear ear plugs when I listen to live music because it tarnishes the fine tone Doug gets from his Emmons pedal steel guitar and related electronics.
In a way, I don't understand it. If I were an aspiring pedal steel player living in the Portland, Oregon area (either just learning or experienced, regardless of ones level of competence), I'd be parked as often as possible at any venue Doug and the Renagade Band were playing at.
I hope that you enjoy the photos and if you can, get out and give a listen to a remarkable pedal steel player, Doug Jones.

I just finished putting the remaining photos in the album. They include several shots of Doug Jones playing his Emmons pedal steel guitar thru some very good electronics.
I misspelled Renegade on the Subject title to this thread. Forgive me!!!!! It can't be corrected thur normal editing.
I hope that you enjoy the photos and better yet, when you're in Portland, Oregon, try to give a listen to this fine band. You'll enjoy the music if you like tradition contry music and you'll definately enjoy Doug's pedal steel guitar playing.
That guy Jones........pictured above, should be in the movies! He has that glint in his eye........that crooked little smile and makes those pedals smoke! Friendly sort of guy as well.
