Just got done listening to this fine CD. Great playing, super stereo effects happening..earphones a must for this one. Mike seems to take steel guitar to places it has never been. Lets see,Ravi Shankarr of the Steel? maybe not but this CD is a ear and eye opener.Last time I got excited about an unusual steel album was the Suite Steel album of the 70's. Five Stars for you Mike...Entire CD is running on "emmons84" radio show..Bill in Vegas

How do I get this CD?

I e-mailed Dr Yakes many weeks ago, but haven't heard back - I understood that he was a 'source'; does anyone know?

Thanks

Thanks gentlemen for the kind words!

To hopefully answer the questions...I think it was early 1970 or late '69 when Jim Evans sold me a steel and got me started. This album (the original 10 cuts) was actually cut between '73 and about '75. The tapes then got caught up in a problem with a studio and I just didn't get it going until about '77.

Last year, John Macy and Wayne Yakes approached me about re-releasing that album in CD form. They also asked if I had anything new to add as "bonus cuts". Although I kinda stopped playing for about 10 years, I'd written a lot of pieces here and there so I pulled a few of those together and they added them to this project.

As far as where to find this CD; The Vibrato Records website will eventually have that info but it's under construction right now and this CD is not listed. Maybe John or Wayne can jump in with order info. I did talk with Scotty recently and he's supposed to have them for sale soon too. Vibrato Records address is listed on the CD as: 4812 S. Carson St., Aurora, CO 80015. I'm not sure of the actual sale price or shipping fees.

Hope this helps.

Yes, you can mail order to the above address

(4812 South Carson Street Aurora, Co 80015)

$15.00 + $2.50 shipping/handling

I can also process credit card orders. You can either email them ( john@johnmacy.com), though email is not secure. You can also leave the credit card number on my phone (303/693/1496) along with the address. Or you can email me a phone number and I'll call you for the info.

THe website should be revamped sometime this week. It actually works for online, secure odering for all the others (Emmons Live, Chuck Lettes and Buzz Evans). Mike's will be there on the new update.

And it is a killer CD...
