Johnny & Joan Cox on WSM

Post by Lem Smith »

I was heading home from work tonight and turned my radio on in my Ranger, it was already set on WSM from Nashville, and the most beautiful steel guitar instrumental was playing. When it finished, they announced it was Joan Cox, and that Joan and Johnny were in-studio guests tonight. So, as I write this, I'm at home and still listening to WSM.

They've been featuring both interviews and music from their new CD, "Angel Band". This is one absolutely fantastic CD!!! It's Gospel music, but from the cuts I've heard on the radio, even you that don't generally care for Gospel will love this one!

Also, three cheers for WSM in Nashville for their promotion of the steel guitar, as well as these two great players.

Hey Lem, I also heard their interview and new gospel recordings on WSM while returning home last evening. They are two of my favorite steel pickers and individuals also. Leonard

Eddie Stubbs was the D.J. that was doing the interviewing and playing the music, so it's no wonder that it so good. Eddie is the best! A walking encyclopedia of country music. I'm hoping to order this CD soon. The playing was second to none.

Eddie Stubbs is #1!! Not only an encyclopedia of country music(the GOOD kind!), Eddie's a real nice guy, and also plays bluegrass fiddle like nobody's business. Hat's off to Eddie Stubbs!!

Paul, over in the Events area of the forum, there is a thread with that info on it. The only place to get it, as I understand it, is direct from Johnny and Joan.

Sorry I don't remember it right off, but I hope this helps.
