I was going thru my albums the other day and found a 1979 33 1/3 of Mack Davis one of the songs was ( Watchin Scotty Grow ) ..Does any one Know who did the Steel work on this song Thank's Jack

Wow! I didn't remember that song even having any steel. So, I went back and listened...it's there, but almost inaudible. Because of the style, my guess would be Pete Drake. (There's hardly enough there to make a <u>good</u> guess.)

I'd assume that it was probably recorded on the West Coast so that'd let out Pete Drake. The first call guy on the coast would be JayDee Maness, then maybe Red Rhodes, or Sneaky Pete Kleinow.

There must be different cuts of this song .The one I got has steel all over it and it is up in the mix. if you like give me your address and I will send a cassett of it
