Price-less" by Bobbe Seymour
For those of you who may have missed the thread on this subject back in October, forum member Steve Kritz put a bug in Bobbe's ear about doing a tribute to Ray Price. The project met with a great deal of excitement and approval from forum members. Bobbe even opened up the song list to take "requests" to be included in the project. So much great material to choose from, we all agree it should be a double CD set. We've had to get Bobbe through a birthday, Christmas, New Years, and now planning his upcoming wedding, but the last time I spoke with Bobbe, things are coming along nicely. A "who's who" list of session players has been contacted. Bobbe has even gone the extra mile to find analog recording equipment to get that warm classic sound associated with REAL country music. If this project has the same kind of soul that the last CD I got from Bobbe has (Soulful Steel), it will be worth the wait.
However, Bobbe,HURRY UP !!!
Roger
P.S. Bobbe...consider using the Seymour guitar on some of the tracks! What a sound!

Well, I'll tell all what I've had to do to lay the foundation for this album. I am so fanatical about the sound of this album that I bought a total analog recording studio,16 trk,30 ips. All mic's and outboard gear from the correct era, rehired one of the best engineers in Nashville, and now have the studio set up and about to record the first song. The name of the studio? "Price-Less Recording Studios" When this project is done, I plan to record five more albums for my commercial outlet then Mike Sweeney has asked to use the facility to record another album for his commercial outlets. This studio is totally built to recapture the big , fat, warm sounds of yesteryear. It is 99% finished. You guys have changed my life! And I thank you!

Bobbe's got his own plane! Shucks, with that, he can get anywhere in the country in only an hour!
'Course, to get to another city might take a lttle bit longer.
Well Mr. Bobbe I got a plane too! It's a pretty sharp one at that...top of the line. (<font size=2>It's a Stanley</font>).

Frank told me Bobbe had a WW-I JENNY Barnstormer and one time used it to play the WLS Barn Dance with Lulu Belle and Skyland Scotty !! Bobbe always did a beautiful job on Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, the big hit by Lulu Belle and Scotty. But I also heard from someone else that he had a Luscombe Silvaire so I don't know who to beleive. Personally, I always though a Taylorcraft was a much neater plane than a Piper Cub but they had only one engine and Bobbe's plane has two......

Roger, bless your heart! You don't need to stoak the fire, it is burning greatly! This project is coming along incredibly well! I have been very lucky so far in this endevor. The studio is totally finished except for getting the machine heads back from being relapped. We will be doing a test session Sunday with full rhythm section and strings. The charts are being written for the strings as I write this post.
Where I have just been the most fortunate is in obtaining Serial number fourteen Emmons steel guitar from a great friend in Arkansas. Built in November,1964,this steel is in immaculate condition and ready for the studio. My dear friend Tommy White donated a beautiful Fender-twin for the session also. This combo has to be heard to be belived!
I can't tell you all how much I appreciate your long continued interest in this project, lets call it OUR project, you great forum guys and me. You started all this and I promise I'll continue to give it my all.
Roger, Thanks for showing me the gun!
Since this is a "all of us" project, let me know if you guys have any questions about anything on this project. I'll keep you all informed of the progress as we go. Thanks to all of you!!!!

A cameo track from the man himself? I'd love it if he would,You guys ask him, I'll pay him and roll out the red carpet in the process. He has recorded in my other past studios. If he wants to, I'd love him to. Start the ball rolling, it's your project too guys!! (I promise I won't cut this one in half Buddy).

I heard he took a test flight in a "Concord"the other day, hooked up a spray rig and dusted all the crops in Tenn. in 11 seconds flat.

We are about half way through the mix now Roger but have jumped on a western swing album for Melissa Cashdollar. She is about half through with the tracking sessions. This will be a tremendous CD!! She is playing so much better than when she left for the oriental tour. We have to do her session
quickly as she has to be back on the road in two weeks. She is playing Non-pedal, accoustical guitar and Dobro on her session. Several of the Nashville players have seen her doing this recording and can't believe what they are seeing!(or hearing),little humor there. Between her modeling and her playing, she should stay in Nashville and forget the road! I just wish she wouldn't wear those high heels all the time!
Anyway, this has slowed me up slightly but it will be done be Chattanooga, but not duplicated. Thanks guys, seems like this is going on forever, but will be worth the wait.
