Ever take apart a HP Omnibook laptop?

Post by Ray Minich »

Well someone dropped the laptop off the coffee table, it landed on the barrel connector from the wallwart power supply and broke the internal mating pin off the motherboard. Now I gotta get inside the case, find the pin, and either repair or replace it so's the laptop can be charged again.
Anyone know the secrets to getting the Omnibook XE2's case apart?
I've pulled all the screws (I think) but not the memory cards yet until I get it onto an antistatic mat. There seems to be something still holding the case together in the center rear of the case. Any ideas?
HP made a disassembly/service CD at one time but it's no longer available. Anyone have a copy?
Thanks for all suggestions...
[This message was edited by Ray Minich on 14 September 2006 at 08:36 AM.]
