PC "On" - till Firefox Homepage - Time?
I just timed my PC. From the time I push the "ON" button until things start to quiet down where I can click on Firefox [desktop icon] and wait for it to finally show-up = 1 minute and 20 seconds.
I run 10 anti-this & that programs, but not all are running in the background.
Does 1:20 seem like an inordinately long time?
My system is Windows XP.
It just seems to me, although I hardly have any "attack" problems, now, the PC seems sluggish.
So, is this the trade off?
Anyone else have this long turn-on time?

I don't even see my logon welcome screen for 1.5 minutes, so your 1:20 is good compared to my boot time. Windows uses this time to detect hardware and activate drivers, then test responses, and to initialize Windows services. The more complex the system, the longer this takes. Security programs run as Services.

I re-timed my bootup to logon time and it comes out to 1 minute 45 seconds, to the desktop.
