There's a program called "WM Recorder" that will do it. There may be other ways or programs. Here's the link to "WM Recorder":

If your sound card has the "what you hear" or "System Mixer" option all you need is the free Audacity program to record streaming audio. Do a google search for audacity and you'll find it. It also does Line In recording (e.g. if you wanted to convert tape to CD).
Most Retail SoundBlaster sound cards have this option, however many of the integrated audio (on the motherboard) systems do not have this capability (none of the Dell integrated audio's have this option).
I haven't looked at the program referenced but if it has to have the "what you hear" or "system mixer" and you don't have it, the program won't do you any good.
ADDED: Some that do not have the "what you hear" or "system mixer" option have had luck recording from the Line In with Audacity by jumpering the Line Out to the Line In on the sound I/O.
[This message was edited by Jack Stoner on 23 May 2006 at 03:07 AM.]
