Adobe Audition vs Cool Edit

Post by Nic du Toit »

I have been using Cool Edit2 for a while now, until a friend showed me the 'new' Adobe Audition 1.5.......Both programs look identical.....what gives? Anybody knows?

Nick;
I also use Cool Edit Pro 2. Syntrillium sold out to Adobe about a year and a half ago. Adobe owns the rights to Cool Edit now, and renamed it Adobe Audition.

FWIW, a pal of mine has both Cool Edit 2 and Adobe Audition and tells me there is (presently) no functional difference between the two.

But Audition 2.0 is out now. I upgraded from Audition 1.0. It's different in a lot of significant ways. I'd guess that Adobe Audition 2.0 is a major improvement over anything known under the previous "Cool Edit" name.

I also use AA and am always finding new uses with it.

Does anybody have the present upgrade to AA 1.5? I'd like to get it sometime. I heard it looks alot like a ProTools setup.
