PDF Files

Post by Colby Tipton »

Whem I'm on the internet and open a PDF file my computer opens up the PDF file but it locks up and I can't go back to the previous page. I have to do the CTRL+ALT+Delete and end task and open my web browser again. What could be causing this?

Possibly the Windows Update being discussed here, and on my Blog.

Hi Colby,

I always have this problem too. Pressing the backspace key does no good, but if I go to the menu at top and select VIEW>GO TO>BACK I am able to back out of Adobe.

As some PDF files are quite large, is it possible that the file hasn't completely downloaded yet?

Occasionally, when I open a PDF file (either locally on the PC or from a web site) it will just sit there and not appear to be doing anything. After a while it will pop up with a report on updates (or no updates) for Adobe PDF Reader and then bring up the file that I wanted to display. Depending on your internet link speed and other factors this can be several minutes.
