Recording directly into Mac?
Okay, okay - I know and use a whole bunch of great ways to record audio but, to my embarrassment, I seem to have missed figuring out how to do the most basic type of computer recording of all.
Who can talk/write me through what I need to do to record from a cassette deck directly into my Mac using the Mac's audio input and, I assume, no esoteric software.
Thanks!

I have a little program in my Applications folder called "Audio Recorder". Very simple and easy to use. Written by Ben Shanfelder. Here's the link to get it: http://homepage.mac.com/benshan/
Windows has a similar program built in. I don't know why Apple doesn't include something like that. Seems like a basic function of a modern computer to me.

I've been using my PodXT via the USB connection to go directly into GarageBand. Been working great! Before the Pod, I had been running right from my pedal board and into a small/cheap Beringer 4 channel mixer. That worked nicely, but the Pod rout is much easier.
