Players for different formats

Post by Anders Brundell »

What players are needed to have a complete pc armament for virtually all kinds of sound/video files? At http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum15/HTML/011225.html
is a file in .php format that neither Windows Media nor Real Player can play.
Wich player should I download for .php and where could I find it?

Anders;
You cannot "play" a .php file. PHP is a server side scripting language used to provide dynamic content on a website.

That said, I followed the link you posted and it leads to a download of a .WMV file, which is playable in Windows Media Player 9+ (I believe), and is an audio-visual movie. If you have Windows Media Player 9 or 10 you should be able to download and play that file, at: http://savefile.com/files.php?fid=9049028 . Just look for the Download button in the bar with the black background, across the middle of the page, that says "Heartaches By The Dozen" on the left, and "Download" on the right.

It's a .wmv file, standard Windows video format. It's on this page. I clicked on "Download the File Now" and saved it to my harddrive, and it played fine in Windows Media Player.
