Download the Internet!

Post by Bobby Lee »

From this new site you can download the Internet to your computer. This is a good idea for anyone with enough disk space who's tired of paying connection charges. Click here to download the Internet now!

I don't have "guts" enough to click on that. I'm waiting for someone else to do it and then report back. Image

Awww. I got a message that I had insufficient disk space. But I have a notion that if I take out my disk and heat it gently in the oven and then roll it out with a rolling pin I can make it big enough. How difficult can it be?

Okay, I got it all on my 386 with the Pendulum processor. But then I went surfing and got this message. Is there some place where we can download more?

That number of megabytes is approximately equal to the National Debt.

I have the new lightning fast cable connection, so it will take me only about 1,500 years! Isn't that great! Image

Kind Regards, Walter

Must be something to it, Jeff.

I used my old Atari to set up a LAN to send the download to the MIC/NSA's Carnivore / Falcon / Echelon (citizens' spying network) computers. This link appeared at the end of the download.

I remember the original "End of the Internet" page. It was a server in Nova Scotia, and there was literally no way to go any further. It included a network map that showed where the server was located, and why you couldn't go any further.

I guess people up there are used to that. They're always saying "You can't get there from here." Image

Hey Bob,

You CAN go further, actually.......Newfoundland, the most easterly point in North America. It's 6 hours east of Nova Scotia by ferry. I should know...I live here. Image

Ha ha good thread Bob and good come back's guys very intertaining. I remember one night after I got broadband back in 97 I stayed up all night drinking and surfing and downloading(not recommended)The next day I checked my stats at the local headend (I worked for the ISP)well anyway I was the number one bandwidth suckerouter and all my buds gave me an award and from then on every month we had a competition between us guys in the headend to see who could use up the most bandwidth.

Keep in mind it was wide open in 97 no caps yet and I was always downloading at speeds of 20 to 30 mbps. We all had FTP servers setup at home and we'd trade stuff back and forth so that's how I got so much stuff in one night.
