Roland VSC - XP Install problem

Post by mickd »

When I bought BIAB vn 10 a few years ago, it came with Roland VSC so I've been using that. I just got a new PC with XP to replace my old W98 one. BIAB installs ok, but when I try to install VSC, I get an error (something to the effect that it won't run under what it thinks is W2000).
So I have 2 questions
1) is there a work-around for this ?
2) do I need to bother with VSC anyway, given that the new PC has an Audigy 2 ZS 7.1 soundcard which comes with its own sounds ?

Here is a Microsoft Tech article on the "16 bit subsystem" error that can occur. It may be applicable to your problem with the VSC, too.

I just tried it again, and the exact error (after double clicking on the "setup launcher" app) is "cannot install on Windows NT(R)".

I think there's a newer VSC. Probably a 32-bit version. I have it here somewhere and never use it. Send me an email if you're interested.
