MP3 Plyback Skipping

Post by Chris Schlotzhauer »

On my HP laptop (notebook), I have a bunch of songs I downloaded from iTunes or from CD. Why do I get an intermittent pause or skip when I playback? It occurs about once a song. When I burn them to a CD they play fine. Anyone else experience this?

If you have Windows XP and less than 512Mb of RAM (memory), that would be the first step.

Hi Chris, check your background activities, if your still running apps in the background like browsers, word and such you are probably running out of sys resources more ram and a shutting down unnessecery apps will cure this.

I have a killer Sony Laptop with only 512 mb of ram and this happens to me when I am trying to do stuff in the background it has a 1.6 ghz proccesor and still it seems sluggish when a lot is going on.

Now on my other desktop with 1 gb of ram and a 2.4 ghz proccesor it doesn't happen so I suspect it's a little bit of both ram and processor.
