How do I shorten a midi file?

Post by Ron Victoria »

I downloaded a song. One of the changes I made was to shorten it. I thought all you do is delete and type in a new ending bar. However, when I went to render it to wav, it just held the last chord for the original time. What's the secret? I notice there are two choices, erase and delete. Are they different?

Thanks, Ron
[This message was edited by Ron Victoria on 19 July 2005 at 11:24 AM.]

Hi Ron, are you talking about BIAB If so send me the song thru my email and I'll take a look and fix it for you just note the bar that you want the song to end on or if you want to do it yourself just let me look at it and I'll walk you thru it.

BIAB doesn't use MIDI files. It exports them, but it has its own format for song files.

Hey b0b, biab 2005 will open smf files and let you edit them but they act a little strange. The style always looks wierd and some of the instruments don't match up but you can open them up and edit them then save them back as a smf.

Not trying to be a know it all but I thought you might want to know :-)
