Changeing OS owner name

Post by Bill Ford »

In control panel/system/properties, where the owner's name is shown, along with the system vitals. I am putting togather a system for a college friend, and need to put his name in it.I have the win 98se os CD for it. How do you change/remove the existing name. All records, etc have been deleated.

I think that stuff (registered organization, registered owner) is "information only" read from the Hwinfo.dat folder in the C:\WINDOWS directory.
