Software to compile Karaoke tracks
Does anyone know of software that will allow one to rip Karaoki tracks from various original discs and compile a new disc? Nero will copy from the original disc to a new one, but that is not what is needed. The object here is to make a new disc containing tracks from various original discs.

Roxio EZ CD Creator has an application called "SoundStream" that lets you save individual tracks from an audio CD as .wav files. Snag the tracks from the source CD's into a subdirectory as .wav files, arrange their sequence by name to suit your taste, then use SoundStream to reburn your .wav fileset to an audio CD. There are probably many other apps that can do this same process.
[This message was edited by Ray Minich on 03 March 2005 at 09:51 AM.]

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions. My wife, Laurie, called a friend who owns a Karaoke restaurant in the Memphis area and asked her advice. Since she has several thousand dollars invested in Karaoke hardware abd software, she has a lot of knowledge in that area, and she gave Laurie some good options. It looks like Laurie will either go with the Plextor burner or go "all the way" and get a DVD burner that can handle everything from simple CD's to CD-G's and DVD's. Our oldest son is a computer expert who is president of Computer Corporation of Central Florida, and he will also guide her through the selection process.

You can also get a software application called Microstudio online.
It allows you to rip Karaoke songs that otherwise are encrypted. I discovered that by mistake ... I have also used CDRWIN and CloneCd, but Microstudio does it all.
You must have a burner that will support CD+G format. Plextor is the best I've seen.
