CD-RW messed up by musicmatch.com??
I installed a Sony CRX230A CD-RW drive in my computer last July so that I could make my own CDs to use with Slow Blast and my TASCAM GT-CD1 slower-downer machine. It came with software called B's Recorder Gold which worked great except that it could not create MP3 files or copy Windows Media Player files. I was advised to download Musicmatch and I could do lots more stuff.
After I downloaded musicmatch (freeware) the CD-RW drive will not record. It will play CD's OK, but when I try to record a file from my hard drive it keeps telling me that there is no disk in the drive or that
"A CD/DVD recorder compatible with Musicmatch
has not been detected....."
If a Sony drive is not compatilbe, could any of you who use Musicnmatch tell me what kind of CD/RW drive is?
The killer is, now, even my B' Recorder Gold won't work either - keeps telling me that there is no disk detected in the drive.
P.S. I had to FAX Sony a copy of my sales receipt this afternoon so I can try their product support people tomorrow. According to them, this drive - which I purchased last July is already obsolete!!! (and not supported - they are doing this as a "favor")
[This message was edited by Gary Ulinskas on 03 December 2004 at 08:53 PM.]

[This message was edited by Gary Ulinskas on 03 December 2004 at 08:56 PM.]

Gary,
Are you using MusicMatch to record your CD's? What were your intentions with MusicMatch? Converting .wav files to .mp3?
Let me know...
Thanks!
Mark

Hi Mark,
I wanted to use Musicmatch to copy Windows media sound clips onto blank CDs so I could use the disks with Slow Blast and my TASCAM GT-CD1 slower downer.
I just got off the phone with Sony tech support. They advised me to uninstall Musicmatch. And sure enough, my B's recorder Gold is working again.
I've been burned by computer problems so much, I am going to stick with what I have.
Thanks for responding.
