Printing Problem
I am having a printing problem that has raised it's head just today and I cannot find out what is causing it!
I hope someone can give me some help !
When I try and print out a message that has come in on Outlook Express 6 , I cannot get Outlook Express 6 to respond . I highlight the message and go to "file" , click on " Print" and nothing happens . !!!! I can print out something I have in "Word" program, ok .
I run Windows 98 O/S and HP Deskjet 694C and printing messages from there has always been "routine" until today ! Now all of a sudden , I cannot print anything from messages received .
Is there a setting that may have been changed within Outlook Express 6 ?
I would appreciate your suggestion / s as to what I should do .I get zero help from the so called "tech support" our server has . It is a waste of time to contact that group.
Thanks,
John

John;
Check to see if your printer has enough ink, in each tank, as this may cause a failure to initiate printing if some or all are low or dried out.
Check to see if the printer's power plug or connecting cable has loosened at either end.
Check to see if there is a problem with the print spooler. See if you have multiple documents spooled, but not being fed to the printer. If so, delete the que and try again.
Try printing a plain text document from Notepad, or an equivilant text editor. If you can print for other applications, but not from Outlook Express, it means that OE has become corrupted, or you may have too many messages saved in your inbox.
If OE is suspected of being corrupted, try Repairing Internet Explorer, via the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 > Change/Remove Button > Repair Internet Explorer
Also, do the following:
Run a virus scan (with current definitions), search for and destroy any spyware (current definitions), and then reboot the computer. Sometimes all you need to do is reboot to fix unexplanable glitches like this. Windows 9x is especially vulnerable to mysterious component failures, which can leave corrupted files in memory.
I hope this helps.

Wiz ,
I really appreciate your response ! I will try what you suggested. I can print out anything from Word but nothing from either the forum or from e-mail messages in Outlook Express.
I am not computer savy at all-- so I may have some trouble understanding some of the steps you recommended but I'm going to try them all as best I can .
Again , thanks !
