Question about front page 2003

Post by Bill Myrick »

I have an older version of office installed on my computer and used the front page 2000 program contained in it to build my business web page. I now want to go in and completely upgrade my site with new pages and pictures, etc. I am wanting to buy and install the newer front page 2003 and am confused about it. According to a clerk in an office supply store here, I'll need the new version of Office Program (which now does not contain front page, in order to buy and install the new 2003 front page ?? this will run into big bucks. Any suggestions ? is the clerk right or not ?? thanks, Bill Myrick

Bill,

I don't think you need Office 2003 or let alone any other office application to run Front Page 2003. Front Page is a seperate entity from Office. Just like Visio or Project. They are seperate from the Office suite.

If you have Front Page 2000 you will just need the "upgrade" CD from Microsoft. That will save you a few hundred bucks!

Cheers!

It always thought that Front Page is a program independent of any other, and I have never heard of it being "packaged" with any other program.

I thought that you just purchased "Front Page" and installed it! Does anyone know differently?

Gene--- In years past, FrontPage was one of the programs included in the Office Suite and that's how I came by my 2000 edition of FrontPage. However, I now understand that FrontPage is no longer included in the Office Program and is a stand alone program.
Mark--Thanks so much for the info--I'll try buying just the upgrade first and hope it will work !!
