Microsoft Unveils its New Search Engine
Microsoft readies new search engine

Newsday
A new battle in the multibillion-dollar online search war begins today as software giant Microsoft unveils a test version of its new search engine, looking remarkably like one of its chief rivals, Google.
The beta, or test version, of the search engine, available at beta.search.msn.com, mirrors features from Google, Yahoo and Ask Jeeves.
The home page is as barebones as market leader Google. It includes the company logo, a text box for entering searches of the entire Web, news sites, dictionary, encyclopedia, stock quotes, movies or shopping. The search engine also mimics Google by providing definitions, calculations and conversions.
Microsoft crafted its own version of the capability, as in Ask Jeeves' search engine, to answer questions. But the service also seems to highlight Microsoft products. The query ''What is the capital of New York?'' brings users to an MSN Encarta page about Albany.

And I seem to have some of the top links for Regal dobros and Blueridge guitars. Sweet. By the way, does anybody need either? (grin)
