mp3 files repeat

Most (if not all) of my .mp3 files are playing a few seconds and then repeating that section of the song all the way to the end.

I thought that I was having this problem because of a recent hard drive loss. I had to do a DriveImage of my hard drive because Windows wouldn't recognize anything on the drive. Drive image made a copy of everything and then I restored from the image. But most of my .rar and installation files are now corrupt. I figured it was the same thing with the .mp3 files - just corrupt data.

But today, I downloaded a song to listen to the steel part, and the same thing happened. Played about 10 seconds and then started repeating. The song position slider just keeps sliding as if the file is playing normally, but I hear the same thing over and over. I never get to the end of the song.

I tried it in Media Player 8 and then installed Media Player 10. Same reults on both. Could there be a repeat setting somewhere that I accidentally changed? Any ideas what it could be?
