Oh, those Windows Media woes......

Post by Johnny Baldwin »

Just recently I transferred some PSG videos to MPEG format and burned CD copies. I did this for the convenience of pausing the video, and not for commercial purposes. When I play them on my Windows Media Player, the first video (MPEG) plays just fine. When I choose another video (MPEG) to play, the second one locks up, shows still frames or doesn't play at all. The audio portion of the video plays but the picture is all messed up.
How come the first one plays and the second one locks up? I am running Windows Media Player 9.0, but I just can't figure out why after playing one video perfectly, the darn thing locks up on the second video I am attempting to play.
Hope my question makes sense.
Thanks in advance for any help.

No matter which of the videos you pick the first one tried always works fine and the second one always does not work? Or are you always running the same clip first?

Will:

No matter what video I choose, it runs fine the first time. If I change CD's or go to another MPEG already in my computer, it locks up, or "still frames" with the audio sounding fine.

Johnny - There's a program called Zoom Player you can get at www.majorgeeks.com that I think you can try out for free. I use it for everything. It plays just about anything. Try another program before you go any further trying to figure out if you're doing something wrong. ( I checked the website...It's a freeware program. )
[This message was edited by Bill Bosler on 26 October 2004 at 07:09 PM.]

You might try upgrading to the new version 10 of Windows Media Player. I have it, and don't have any problems, to speak of.

Winamp works well, also.
