Can anyone tell me if it's safe to remove the application Back Web?

Possibly. It depends on which app is using it. BackWeb is bundled with some legitimate software to enable automatic software updates. Many consider it a nuisance since it can clog your system resources looking for an update to something as trivial as a mouse driver. It also takes an 11MB chunk out of your hard drive. Can anyone tell me if it's safe to remove the application Back Web?
Go here for more information and removal instructions. Keep in mind that if you remove it, another app may not function correctly.

Thanks Jeff. Sounds like a major undertaking
but one way or other I'm getting rid of it. I ran Spybot this morning and had 74 Back
Web entries that it deleted and that was after a full hard drive format just last night. So...........away we go! By the way, that link was very informative. Thanks again.
