Track info when burning a disc

Post by Jeff Strouse »

I burned an audio CD by selecting the files with the HP burning software that came with my cd writer. It shows the track titles, so I can put them in order.

However, when I put the disc back in my machine to check it, Real Player doesn't recognize the track titles...it lists it as only "Track One" Track Two", etc. The tracks won't be in a music database, (which I assume is what Real Player is automatically looking for) but aside from that, shouldn't the track song titles that are on the disc be displayed as it was when I burned it?

How do I get the program to also burn the track titles onto the CD? If I decide to put a disc back onto my harddrive, I don't want to have to type all the track info again.

Thanks!
[This message was edited by Jeff Strouse on 12 October 2004 at 01:24 PM.]

On the CDs that I've burned, all I get are the numbers for the different tracks.
I usually print the titles with their corresponding numbers on the case covers.

The CD must be burned using disk-at-once mode for the text to be written.
I believe that's the key. This preserves the serial number "thingy" of the CD, so it can be looked up in an online database to retrieve the song titles.

The on-line database won't work with my discs anyway, because none of the music I put on a disc would register (its from LPs and Tapes).
