Windows XP Host file

Post by Daryl Stogner »

Windows creates a text file that stores the actual IP address for websites you visit. I can't remember where this file is stored? Does anyone know where I can find it.

Reason: I wasn't able to log onto Fender.com and my bank. I need to remove those sites from the host file, so IE will let me go to those websites. Until I edit the HOST file, I can't go to either website, probably due to them having new IP addresses.

Another brilliant idea from Mircosoft!

I don't have an XP box in front of me but if I recall, it's:

C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
