How do you post MP3's

Post by Bob Hickish »

I have a recording of The " Orange Blossom Special " with Hal Rugs doing the back up steel work - a Gal By the name of Gail Seacord doing the fiddle work - and in my opinion ! its one of the best versions I ever heard and would like to share it on the Forum - but don't know how to do it - maybe its not a good idea to post a fiddle tune !! - any suggestions ??

Bob,
If you already have the tune as an MP3 file,
you need to put the MP3 on a server, then create a message with a link that points to the location of the file on that server.

Your ISP may provide you a folder on their server for a personal website? but many do not provide more than a few megabytes, and one or twoMP3's can eat that up pretty quick .

I'll send you an email.

The theatrics [ if thats the right term ] in the way its played was the thing that I always enjoyed hearing - I didn't think that folks would try to pick the fly specs out of the pepper - but I guess some folks will - This was to be a tribute to to Gail & Hall working together so many years ago - they are both suffering from illnesses that threaten to take there music away from all of us that have enjoyed them both . glad you like it

Bob.......

You can e-mail a MP3 file as an attachment to anyone. I would suggest the receipant have a fast net connection tho. (like cable, DSL or something) In general, MP3's arn't very large but som ISP's will not allow files larger than 3-4 meg in size to be transfered.

I will attempt to place a MP3 on my webpage and do a pointer to it. Give me a couple of days to set it up.
