How to Upgrade Outlook Express to Outlook?

Post by Lou[NE] »

I want to convert my wife's email program from Outlook Express to Outlook, while saving all messages, addresses, etc. I have cd's of Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003. Is it possible to export from Outlook Express and import to Outlook?

Any help appreciated. thanks.

If you install Outlook 2000 or 2003 on your machine, it will give you the opportunity to answer YES to the question "Do you want Outlook 200X to be your default mail client?". That's the easy part. Now, bringing your old e-mails from the earlier version into the the new version can be tricky. I just did a fella's upgrade from Outlook 5 to Outlook 6 and bringing in the old e-mails and address stuff was a task, but we got it. Your mileage may vary.

Well, if you don't mind the security issues and really want to use Outlook, open Outlook and go under "File" and click "Import and Export" and it will give you options to import your OE data.
