I use Comcast cable as my internet server.
In the past 2 months my email account has started receiving spam-mail, 15 to 20 a day.
The thing that seems strange to me is that none of these emails are addressed to my email address.
It would seem simple for my server to filter everything that is not addressed to me.
Is this a common problem?
Comcast is not being helpful and hardly responding.
[This message was edited by Tom Mortensen on 09 June 2004 at 02:34 PM.]

Actually, they are. You don't see your address because it's in the BCC field. The thing that seems strange to me is that none of these emails are addressed to my email address.
I'm not surprised. Comcast is currently one of the primary sources of spam. This results from some of their customers running unsecured Windows machines that have been hijacked by spammers. They refuse to shut down or educate their customers so the problem persists. It's all about the money.Comcast is not being helpful and hardly responding.

My ISP is really on the ball. They have incorporated a challenge/response system. Any mail not verified by a human sender gets held in my quaratine folder. This is one step before my spam folder which no longer collects mail. The problem is/was I was never notified of this change and it cost me some problems with eBayers. Got it all straightened out now.
